The echo of Allan Kaprows lecture ‘How to Make a Happening’ (recorded in 1966), explaining what a Happening is – and is not – according to 11 rules. The lecture was transcribed and later analysed. The 5 words
became the echo of the lecture. Each word was analysed within the context of the lecture, time, space and times it appeared. Each word was photocopied until the the black was gone (around 300 times).
Based on the parameters time, space & appearance the photocopied words were put in to a stop motion animation which echo the original sound piece.
